The best move depends on the words your game accepts. Select the matching dictionary before analysing a photo or screenshot so the solutions correspond to the rules of your current game.
French Scrabble: ODS7, ODS8 and ODS9
Scrabboard Solver provides French word lists including ODS7, ODS8 and ODS9. Choose the edition used for your game rather than assuming every French list contains the same words.
An older edition can still be useful when reproducing a position from a game that used that edition. For a current game, verify the list selected by your opponent, club or application.
English Scrabble: NWL, Collins and Merriam-Webster
The available English lists include US NWL2018 and NWL2023, Merriam-Webster, and Collins CSW19 and CSW2024. The relevant choice depends on the game and region.
These lists are not interchangeable. If a solution is rejected by your game, check the selected list before changing the recognised position.
Words With Friends and other languages
ENABLE1 is available for Words With Friends. Other languages include German, Dutch, Italian, Spanish and Portuguese. Check the options shown by your installed application.
The word list and board type are separate settings. A matching dictionary alone does not reproduce a different board layout or its bonus squares.
Check these settings before comparing scores
Use this short checklist when a result looks unexpected.
- Match the dictionary to the language and edition of your game.
- Select the board type, including the appropriate bonus-square layout.
- Verify the existing letters, rack and blank tiles.
- Recalculate the solutions after correcting the position or settings.
